Issue
  • Due to increasing retailer power and competition in the UK consumer marketplace this client required a review of their supply chain strategy from manufacturing to delivery to end consumer

Solution
  • This piece of work consisted of three major work streams in order to develop a supply chain strategy:
  • reviewing their competitive positioning and the future direction of the market
  • demand and supply management process mapping and comparison against best practice
  • physical supply chain modelling

Benefits
  • A range of seven supply chain options were modelled. For each option potential operating cost savings were generated in addition to investment business cases and outline implementation plans
  • Annual operating cost savings were of the order of 10% per year
